A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BALDWIN PARK, CALIFORNIA RECITING THE FACT OF
THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK ON THE 8TH DAY OF MAY, 1973
DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER
MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW
WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election was held and conducted
In the City of Baldwin Park. County of Los Angeles, State of California,
on Tuesday, the 8th day of May, 1973, and
WHEREAS, notice of said Special Municipal Election was duly
and regularly given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that
voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were
appointed and that in all respects said election was held and conducted
and the votes cast thereat, received and canvassed and the returns made
and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of
the Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of special
elections in cities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 73-46. adopted the 21st
day of February, 1973, the City Clerk of the City of Baldwin Park
canvassed the returns of said Special Municipal Election and has certified
the results to this City Council, said results are received, attached and
made a part hereof as Exhibit A".
NOW, THEREFORE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK.
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That there were 32 voting precincts established for
the purpose of holding said special election consisting of consolidations
of the regular election precincts in the City of Baldwin Park as established
for the holding of state and county elections.
SECTION 2. That said Special Municipal Election was held for the
purpose of voting on the following measure:
Shall the Charter prepared and proposed by the
City Council of the City of Baldwin Park be adopted?"
SECTION 3. That the whole number of votes cast in said City except
absentee voter ballots) was 2,947.
That the whole number of absentee ballots cast in said City was 27,
making a total of 2,974 votes cast in said City.
That the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of
votes given in the City for and against the special election measure were as
listed In Exhibit A" attached.
SECTION 4. That the votes of less than fifty per cent 503;) of all
the voters voting at said special election upon said measure were cast in
favor of the adoption of said measure, and said measure is hereby declared to
have failed to carry at said special election.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this resolution, shall enter the same in the book of original
Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute record of the passage and
adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of
said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which same is passed and adopted.
PASSED. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of May. 1973.
