HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974 006 CC RESO1974 006 CC RESO(Ììú€RESOLUTION NO. 74-6 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DECLARING THAT PRO- CEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK. TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY. CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED AS ANNEXATION NO. 22" AND REPEALING AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 73-193 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That. pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been initiated by the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park, on its own motion, to annex to the City of Baldwin Park, all that uninhabited territory, situated In the County of Los Angeles, State of California, hereby designated as Annexation No. 22", more particularly described on Exhibit A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference. SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park desires to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Baldwin Park for the following reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Baldwin Park. is uninhabited, and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed. SECTION 3. That the Local Agency Formation Commission of Los Angeles County» California, did in session duly assembled on December 12» 1973, approve the proposed annexation as submitted to said Commis- sion by the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park. SECTION 4. That Wednesday, February 20, 1974. at the hour of 7:30 p.m, In the Council Chambers of the City Hall located at 14403 East Pacific Avenue, In the City of Baldwin Park, County of Los Angeles, California, Is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where the City Council will hear protests made by any person owning real property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Baldwin Park. Such protests must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the final adjournment of the hearing on protests to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected, and the street address or other descrip- tion of the property sufficient to Identify it on the last equalized assessment roll. SECTION 5. That the City Clerk of the City of Baldwin Park is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but not more often than once a week, in the Baldwin Park Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation published In said City of Baldwin Park, the City to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also In the Daily Journal, a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City of Baldwin Park, in the County of Los Angeles, California, the County in which the territory proposed to be annexed to the City is located, said publications to be completed at least twenty 20) Days prior to the date set for hearing. SECTION 6. That the City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be malted to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed Is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above proceedings were Initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to the Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an Interest, either legal or equitable, with the Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty 20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. SECTION 7. That Resolution No. 73-193 is hereby repealed and rescinded.
