A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK COMMENDING
THE HONORABLE HARVEY JOHNSON.
ASSEMBLYMAN 58TH DISTRICT. FOR HIS
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE CITY OF BALDWIN
PARK
WHEREAS. The Honorable Harvey Johnson has devoted many years
of service to State, County and municipal government in California; and
WHEREAS, these years of service have included sixteen years
of service on two school district boards and twelve years as a State
Assemblyman; and
WHEREAS, Assemblyman Harvey Johnson has supported the City of
Baldwin Park upon many occasions when the City has attempted legislative
reforms, the most notable being the successful attempt by the City to
change the reallocation of the cigarette tax revenues; and
WHEREAS, Assemblyman Harvey Johnson has exhibited the highest
order of Integrity and personal courage in seeking to resolve varied and
complex problems affecting his constltutents; and
WHEREAS, Assemblyman Harvey Johnson has pursued his responsibil-
ities In a true state of humility and service, attested to by the fact
that to his constltutents he has always been affectiolately known as
Harvey" wherever he went; and
WHEREAS, Assemblyman Harvey Johnson is a people's representative
who will be sorely missed and most difficult to replace.
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Baldwin Park hereby expresses its sincere appreciation and admiration
to Assemblyman Harvey Johnson for his dedicated efforts in the best Interests
of his constltutents. and wishes him well In his coming retirement as
Assemblyman from the 58th Assembly District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and shall transmit a certified copy thereof
to Harvey Johnson, Assemblyman, 58th Assembly District.
