HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974 109 CC RESO1974 109 CC RESO;¢fì÷mRESOLUTION NO. 74-109 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DESIGNATING A SURVEY AREA, CREATING THE BALDWIN PARK REDEVELOPMENT REVOLVING AND ADMINISTRA- TIVE FUNDS, AUTHORIZING APPROPRIATIONS THERETO, PROVIDING FOR EXPENDITURES OF SUCH. MONIES AND DIRECTING FEASIBILITY STUDIES. WHEREAS, the City Counci.l of the City of Baldwin Park has established the Baldwin Park Redevelopment Agency pursuant to Section 33000 et seq. of the California Health and Safety Code Community Development Law); and WHEREAS, in order to carry into effect the powers, purposes, and functions of the Agency, enactment of certain sections of said Health and Safety Code relative to designation of survey areas, funding and preparation of appropriate redevelopment studies are necessary. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park: SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 684 be filed with the Secretary of State as evidence of establishment of the Agency. SECTION 2: The area described in Section 3 hereof is found to require study for purposes of determining if a redevelopment project within said area is feasible. SECTION 3: The following described area to be and is called Puente-Merced Area" is hereby designated as a survey area: Beginning at the intersection of Merced Avenue and Big Dalton Avenue; thence northeasterly along the center line of Big Dalton Avenue 920 feet, more or less, to the northwesterly prolongation of the southwesterly lines of Lots 3 to 16, inclusive, of Tract No. 14258, in the City of West Covina, as per map recorded in Book 297, pages 26 and 27 of Mans, in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County; thence southeasterly along said northwesterly BIB] 37686-U01 1974-U02 109-U02 CC-U02 RESO-U02 LI3-U03 FO10488-U03 FO11121-U03 DO11132-U03 C6-U03 RESO-U03 3/5/2003-U04 ROBIN-U04 1974 109 CC RESO;¢fì÷mResolution No. 74-109 Page 2 Legal Description con't. prolongation and along said southwesterly line of Lots 3 to'16, inclusive, of said Tract No. 14258, a distance of 1916 feet, more or less, to the most southerly corner of said Lot 16; thence southwesterly along the southeasterly boundary of the City of Baldwin Park, a distance of 1824 feet, more or less, to the most southerly corner of Lot 50, El Monte Walnut Place, as per map recorded in Book 6, page 104 of Maps, in the office of said County Recorder; thence north- westerly along the northeasterly line of Lot 44 of said El Monte Walnut Place and along its northwesterly prolongation 1852 feet to the center line of Big Dalton Avenue; thence northeasterly along the center line of said Big Dalton Avenue 960 feet to the point of beginning. SECTION 4: A Redevelopment Agency Revolving Fund for the benefit of the Redevelopment Agency is hereby established. SECTION 5: A Redevelopment Agency Administrative Fund for defraying administrative expenses of the Agency is hereby established. SECTION 6: The sum of Eighty Five Thousand Dollars $85,000) is hereby appropriated by the City Council from the General Fund to the special fund known as the Redevelopment Agency Administrative Fund. SECTION 7: The City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to pay from the Redevelopment Agency Administra- tive Fund to the Redevelopment Agency Eighty Five Thousand Dollars $85,000). Said amount is to be considered a loan to the Agency and to be repaid in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth herein. SECTION 8: The above sum to be loaned to the Agency shall be repaid, together with accrued interest of seven 7) percent per annum, from proceeds of bonds issued to under- take a redevelopment project, or from any other fundn which may become legally available to the Agency for repayment to the City. SECTION 9: The Agency is hereby authorized and directed to study the designated survey area and determine whether a redevelopment project within said area is feasible.
