A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK, CALIFORNIA APPROVING A MULTI-
JURISDICTIOMAL PROJECT FOR BURGLARY PREVENTION
AND INVESTIGATION.
WHEREAS the CITY OF WEST COVINA desires to undertake a certain
project designated EAST VALLEY BURGLARY INVESTIGATIVE TEAM to be
funded in part from funds made available through the Omnibus Crime
Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, PL 90-355, as amended, PL 92-644,
hereafter referred to as the Safe Streets Act) administered by the
Office of Criminal Justice Planning hereafter referred to as OCJP),
and
WHEREAS the CHIEF OF POLICE of the CITY OF WEST COVINA has been
authorized on behalf of his City to submit an Application for Grant
for Law Enforcement Purposes to OCJP, which grant would be for the
benefit of the cities of AZUSA, BALDWIN PARK, CLAREMONT, COVINA,
GLENDORA, INDUSTRY, IRWINDALE, LA PUENTE, LA VERNE, SAN DIMAS, WALNUT,
WEST COVINA, and the COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Baldwin Park, California as follows:
1. That the applicant agrees to provide all matching
funds required for said project including any extension
or amendment thereof) under the Safe Streets Act and the
rules and regulations of OCJP and the Law Enforcement
assistance Administration and that cash will be
appropriated as required thereby.
2. That grant funds received hereunder shall not be used
to supplant on-going law enforcement expenditures.
3. That the City of Baldwin Park shall participate and
that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed,
through the Chief of Police, to cooperate fully in the
implementation of this program.
4. The Mayor shall sign this resolution and the City Clerk
shall attest and certify the passage and adoption thereof.,
