A'RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL"OF-THE
CITY OF BALD'-JIN PARK APPROVING AN APPLI-
CATION FOR PROPOSITION 2 MONIES
/
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the Nejedty-
Hart State, Urban, and Costal Park Bond Act of 1976, which provides funds to the
State of California and its political subdivisions to acquire, develop, and
restore real property for state and local park, beach, recreational and histor-
ical purposes; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been dele-
gated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the State,
setting up necessary procedures governing application by local agencies under
the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks
and Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution, the approval
of applications prior to submission of said applications to the State; and
WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the applicant must
comply with; and
WHEREAS, said procedures further require the applicant to process an
adopted plan showing parks and recreation lands and facilities, existing and
proposed; and
WHEREAS, the City's General Plan was first adopted by the City Council
on May 29, 1961; and
WHEREAS, the proposed project appears on the City's Plan is consistent
with the California Outdoor Recreation Resources Plan. and is in conformity
with the State Environmental Goals and Police Report; and
WHEREAS, the project must be compatible with the land use plans of
those jurisdictions immediately surrounding the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park, does hereby:
1. Approve the filing of an Application for Proposition 2
Grant assistance; and
2. Certify that said aqency understands the assurances
in the application; and
3. Certify that said aqency has or will have sufficient
funds to operate and maintain the project; and
4. Certify that said aqency meets the planning requirements
and that the project is compatible with the land use
plans of those jurisdictions immediately surrounding
the project; and
5. Appoint the Director of Recreation and Parks as agent
of the City to conduct all negotiations, execute and sub-
mit all documents including but not limited to applications,
agreements, amendments, payment requests, and so on which
may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned
project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of March 1977.
