A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK. CALIFORNIA,
CERTIFYING THE DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL
IMPACT REPORT ON THE PROPOSED
CONSTRUCTION OF THE SIXPENCE INNS
MOTEL WITHIN THE PUENTE-MERCED/SOUTH
BALDWIN PARK BOULEVARD REDEVELOPMENT
PROJECT AREA
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park has adopted a Redevelopment
Plan for the Puente-Merced/South Baldwin Park Boulevard Redevelopment Project
Area in order to eliminate the existing blight in the project area; and
WHEREAS, Sixpence Inns of America is proposing the construction
of a 76 unit motel within the project area at property located at 14510 Garvey
Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Sixpence Inns of America is proposing a Zone Change from
C-1 Neighborhood Commercial) and R-1 Single Family Residential) to C-2
General Commercial) on property located at 14510 Garvey Avenue Z-398); and
WHEREAS. A Draft Environmental Impact Report has been prepared by
the firm of Owen Menard and Assoicates on the proposed project and zone
change pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act, as amended; and
WHEREAS, public input and testimony on the Draft Environmental
Impact Report has been provided by having circulated the report to the
required agencies and by having a duly noticed public hearing as required
by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park finds,
determines and resolves as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby certify the Draft
Environmental Impact Report on the proposed construction of the Sixpence Inns
Motet within the Puente-Merced/South Baldwin Park Boulevard Redevelopment
Project Area.
SECTION 2. That all comments received during the review process
and a11 testimony received during the public hearing process shall be
incorporated with the Draft Environmental Impact Report to become known as
the FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT FOR THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF THE
SIXPENCE INNS MOTEL.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of April, 1977.
