A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK COMMENDING
RUDY MARTINEZ FOR PUBLIC SERVICE TO
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the people of Baldwin Park to honor-
individuals displaying traits of courage, self-sacrifice, and manliness in
defense of their fellow human beings; and
WHEREAS, on March 2. 1978, Mrs. Mary Gross, aged 68, was brutally
attacked and robbed; and
WHEREAS, RUDY MARTINEZ, disregarding personal safety, pursued and
apprehended her attacker; and
WHEREAS, as a result of the actions of RUDY MARTINEZ, Mrs. Gross'
attacker was turned over to the police, her possessions were returned to her
and our City was made safer for all citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Baldwin Park does hereby commend RUDY MARTINEZ for public service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Baldwin
Park expresses, on behalf of the people of Baldwin Park, their gratitude both
for his action itself and for the outstanding example he has set for the youth
of our City.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of March, 1978.
