RESOLUTION NO. 78-70
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BALDWIN PARK, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACTS OF
THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION CONSOLIDATED WITH
THE DIRECT PRIMARY ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY OF
BALDWIN PARK ON THE 6TH DAY OF JUNE, 1978.
DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER
MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW
WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election consolidated with the
Direct Primary Election was held and conducted in the City of Baldwin
Park, County of Los Angeles, State of California on the 6th day of
June, 1978; and
WHEREAS, notice of said Special Municipal Election was duty and
regularly given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that voting
precincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed
and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes
cast, thereat, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared
in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the Elections
Code of the State of California for the holding of special elections in
cities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 78-26 adopted the 9th day
of March, 1978, the Registrar of Voters of the County of Los Angeles,
canvassed the returns of said election and has certified the result to
this City Council, said results are received, attached and made a part
hereof as Exhibit A".
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That there were 27 voting precincts established for
the purpose of holding said election consisting of consolidations of the
regular election precincts in the City of Baldwin Park as established for
the holding of state and county elections.
SECTION 2. That at said Special Municipal Election the following
measures were submitted to the electors of said City to wit:
PROPOSITION G Shall the electors elect a Mayor YES
and 4 City Councitmen? NO
PROPOSITION H Shall the term of office of Mayor YES
be 2 years? NO
PROPOSITION J Shall the term of office of Mayor YES
be 4 years? NO
PROPOSITION K Shall the office of City Clerk be YES
appointive? NO
SECTION 3. That the whole number of votes cast in said City
except absentee voter ballots) was 7,651;
That the whole number of absentee ballots cast in said City
was 258, making a total of 7,909 votes cast in said City.
SECTION 4. That the number of votes given at each precinct and
the number of votes given in the City for and against the special election
measures were as listed in Exhibit A" attached.
