HomeMy WebLinkAbout1978 108 CC RESO1978 108 CC RESO(ÌìôwRESOLUTION NO. 78-108 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK ENCOURAGING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO CONTINUE REGULAR SERVICE OF THE COUNTY REGIONAL LIBRARY WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park under- stands and is sympathetic to the financial and funding problems facing the Board of Supervisors of the Los Angeles County since the enactment of Proposition 13; and WHEREAS, following service cutbacks recommended by the County Chief Administrative Officer, we, the members of the Baldwin Park City Council, are concerned that County libraries have been targeted for work force reductions; and WHEREAS, with the reduction of service hours together with essential public services would have a devastating effect on citizens of a11 ages; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park recommends that: SECTION 1. The Regional Library in West Covina be allowed to continue with regular service for the people of the San Gabriel Valley and urge the Board of Supervisors to expend every effort in seeking State aid when the Legislature reconvenes in January. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of the resolution and forward copies thereof to the surrounding cities in the San Gabriel Valley. ATTEST: 4^^ THElMAL.
