A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK IN GENERAL SUPPORT OF THE
CONCEPT FOR ADEQUATE FUNDING FOR FLOOD CONTROL
AND WATER CONSERVATION WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES
OF THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL
DISTRICT.
THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does
hereby find, determine, and declare as follows:
a. That the District operates and maintains channels, storm
drains, water conservation facilities, and catch basins
in and adjacent to the City of Baldwin Park City) for
the protection and benefit of the residents of the City
and those people working or visiting the City; and
b. That the District is expected to receive only approximately
35 percent of the funds necessary to provide an adequate
level of protection, and water conservation; and
c. That, additional funds are necessary to provide an adequate
level of protection, and water conservation; and
d. That, the City Council of the City wishes the District to
provide an adequate level of protection of life and property
and water conservation.
SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Baldwin Park does
hereby declare its general support of the concept for the District
and urges the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to provide a
means by which the District will receive additional funds.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution and send a copy hereof to the Los Angeles County Board of
Supervisors.
