A RBSOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK ESTABLISHING
AN ABANDONED VEHICLE ABATEMENT PROGRAM
AND AGREEMENT THEREOF
WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Sections 22665 22668
provide for the California Highway Partol to administer local
abandoned vehicle abatement programs, and
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park, California has
adopted an Ordinance in accordance with the California Vehicle Code
providing for the abatement of abandoned vehicles, and
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park, California recognizes that
by having its abandoned vehicle abatement program administered pursuant
to California Vehicle Code Section 22665, eligibility for disbursement
from the Abandoned Vehicle Trust Fund is relinquished, and
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park, California will provide
a hearing officer and conduct public hearings for contested
abatements pursuant to California Vehicle Code Sections 22661 d)
and 22666, and
WHEREAS, any levies pursuant to Government Code 25845
or 38773.5 and collected as a result of the hearings will be used to
reimburse the California Highway Patrol for abatement costs incurred
for removing vehicle s) which were subject to hearing:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Baldwin Park,
hereby requests that the Department of the California Highway Patrol
administer the City*s abandoned vehicle abatement program.and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Manager
is hereby authorized to negotiate an agreement with the Department of
the California Highway Patrol for the administration of said abandoned
vehicle abatement program.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of the Resolution
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of/^'^vember 1980.

certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly approved
