A RESOLUTION OF THE CIT-Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR
GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT
ACT OF 1980.
WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of California has
enacted the State Solid Waste Management Act of 1980 which provides
funds to certain entitles for litter cleanup, litter law enforcement,
public awareness and education, cind purchase of litter receptacles;
and
WHEREAS, the State Solid Waste Management Board has been
delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program,
setting up necessary procedures qoverning application by local
agencies under the program, and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Solid Waste
Management Board require the applicant to certify the approval of
applications prior to submission of said applications to the state;
and
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Baldwin Park:
1. Approves the filing of an application for funding under the
State Solid Waste Management Act Fund; and
2. Certifies that said agency understands the general provisions
of the grant agreement; and
3. Authorizes the Director of Community Services as the agent of
the City of Baldwin Park to conduct all negotiations, execute
and submit all documents Including but not limited to
applications, grant agreements, amendments and payment requests,
which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned
program.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall certify
to the adoption of this Resolution.
