RESOLUTION 81-27
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK APPROVING THE
APPLICATION FOR A LOAN PROGRAM FOR STREET
LIGHT CONVERSION UNDER THE ENERGY
CONSERVATION ACT OF 1979.
WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of California has
enacted the Energy Conservation Act of 1979 which provides funds to
certain entities for street light conversion projects; and
WHEREAS, the California Energy Commission has been
delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program,
setting up necessary procedures governing application by local
agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California
Energy Commission require the applicant to certify the approval of
applications prior to submission of said applications to the state; and
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Baldwin Park:
1. Approves the filing of an application for a loan program for
Street light conversion under the Energy Conservation Act of
1979; and
2. Certifies that said agency understands the general provisions
of the loan, agreement, promissory note, and fair employment
practices addendum; and
3. Authorizes the City Engineer as the agent of the City of
Baldwin Park to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit
all documents including but not limited to applications, grant
agreements, amendments and payment requests, which may be
necessary for the completion of the aforementioned program.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall certify
to the adoption of this Resolution.
