A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK APPROVING THE
COOPERATION AGREEMENT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT
OF PUBLIC HOUSING WITH THE HOUSING AUTHORITY
OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK
WHEREAS, in the provision of Section 7 d) Department
of Housing and Urban Development Act, 42 U.S.C. 3535(d); U. S.
Housing Act of 1937, 42 U.S.C. 1437 as amended will authorize
the Secretary to approve and permit a Public Housing Agency
PHA) to develop public housing; and
WHEREAS/ the Article XXXIV Referendum approved by the
voters of Baldwin Park on November 7, 1978, authorizes the
development of public housing; and
WHEREAS, in the provision of Section 841.201(c) / 24
CFR Part 841 of the Public Housing Development Regulations
requires a Cooperation Agreement between the PHA and the
applicable local governing body for the area in which the public
housing project is to be located as evidence of local cooperation
required by HUD; and
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park is committed to its
residents to provide decent, safe, and sanitary housing for low
and moderate income, elderly and families.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Baldwin Park as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby approves the
adoption and execution of the Cooperation Agreement with the
Housing Authority of the City of Baldwin Park for the development
of public housing.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution.
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 19th day of August, 1981.
