A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK, CALIFORNIA,
USA, JOINING WITH THE CITY OF BUCHEON,
REPUBLIC OF KOREA, IN A PEOPLE-TO-
PEOPLE COVENANT OF FRIENDSHIP,
UNDERSTANDING AND PEACE
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the people of Baldwin Park,
California, USA, and the people of Bucheon, Republic of Korea,
to extend to each other the hand of friendship as Sister Cities
of the free world; and
WHEREAS, it is the purpose of the aforesaid affiliations
to activate joint programs of various exchanges and personal
contacts between the people of the Sister Cities to promote
mutual understanding, respect and friendship between them;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Baldwin
Park, California does hereby resolve as follows:
That we, the people of Baldwin Park, California,
in the United States of America, join the people of
Bucheon in the Republic or Korea, in an affiliation of
friendship so that through our various cultural,
industrial and commercial exchanges and contacts on a
people-to-people/ person-to-person level, we may learn
to know each other, respect each other's rights and
views, and help cultivate friendships between our
people and thus contribute to the promotion of world
peace.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall certify
to the adoption of this Resolution.
PASSED and APPROVED this 3rd day of February, 1982-
