A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK APPROVING
APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE
CITY OF BALDWIN PARK COMMUNITY CRIME
RESISTANCE PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF NECESSARY DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin Park desires to undertake a certain
project designated as the City of Baldwin Park Community Crime Resistance
Project", to Be funded in part from funds made available through State
General Funds FY 1981/82 as authorized by Chapter 578 of the 1978 Statutes
for the Community Crime Resistance Program, administered by the Office of
Criminal Justice Planning hereafter referred to as OCJP); and
WHEREAS, activities funded under said project are designed to
include crime prevention seminars and workshops to increase citizen aware-
ness in methods to safeguard property interests and to prevent the oppor-
tunity for violent crime to occur; and
WHEREAS, such program activities are expected to reduce crime
and ultimately result in a direct benefit to the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Baldwin Park, hereby authorizes the City Manager to submit the
attached Application for Grant for Law Enforcement Purposes to OCJP on
behalf of the City of Baldwin Park and to execute the attached Grant
Award for law enforcement purposes including any extensions or amendments
thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Baldwin Park agrees to
provide all matching funds required for said project including any exten-
sion or amendment thereof) under the Community Crime Resistance Program
and the rules and regulations of OCJP; that monies will be appropriated
as required thereby, and that grant funds received hereunder shall not be
used to supplement law enforcement expenditures controlled by this body.
That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.
