A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BALDWIN PARK AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF
TERRITORY IDENTIFIED AS WESTERLY ANNEXATION
NO. 238" TO THE CITY OF WEST COVINA.
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina has approached the
City of Baldwin Park proposing the transfer of a piece of property
located at the corners of Garvey and Merced Avenues in the City of
Baldwin Park identified as Westerly Annexation 238."
WHEREAS, the staff of the City of Baldwin Park has reviewed
the request and upon review, found that the property in question is
1,950 square feet in area and not likely to develop because of its
substandard area.
WHEREAS, staff also concluded that the transfer of
territory would provide for more logical city boundaries and more
feasible land development for the property in question.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK
does hereby:
1. Authorize the transfer of property identified as
Westerly Annexation 238",to the City of West
Covina, the withdrawal of said territory from the
Consolidated Fire Protection District of Los Angeles
County, the City of Baldwin Park Tax District and
the City of Baldwin Park Lighting District.
2. Appoint the Mayor to execute Resolution No. 6600,
a joint Resolution of the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Los Angeles, the City Council of the
City of West Covina and the City Council of the
City of Baldwin Park.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall certify
to the adoption of this Resolution.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 6th day c?f October, 1982.
