A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK
DECLARING BALDWIN PARK CRIME PREVENTION WEEK
FEBRUARY 6-12, 1983
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BALDWIN PARK AS
FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the reduction of all crimes committed in the City of Baldwin
Park is of great concern to all of us; and
WHEREAS, the Baldwin Park Police Department is coordinating a special
crime prevention display at the Police Department on Saturday, February
12, 1983, featuring lock displays, the Crime Prevention Puppets, the
Canine Unit, and the Traffic Unit; and
WHEREAS, the Crime Prevention Section in cooperation with the office
of Criminal Justice Planning and the State Attorney General's Crime
Prevention Center is sponsoring crime prevention lectures to elementary
schools and civic groups; and
WHEREAS, there is a definite need to educate our youth to develop
sound crime prevention measures at an early age; and
WHEREAS, law enforcement officials throughout the state whose
jurisdictions have experienced substantial reductions in crime attribute
the decline to a number of factors, including increased public awareness
and involvement in Neighborhood Watch and other crime prevention programs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BALDWIN PARK, in recognition of the need to expand crhne prevention efforts,
joins the efforts of the Office of Criminal Justice Planning and the State
Attorney Generals Office and proclaims February 6-12, 1983, Baldwin Park
Crime Prevention Week.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
Resolution.
